PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

Uzima Chicken will recruit recent graduates with degrees in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or AnimalProduction. The objective of the Poultry Leadership Develop Program (LDP) is to provide fresh recruits with the skills they need to be successful to step into supervisory and managerial positions in the poultry industry. In addition, Uzima believes it is critical to provide this class with experience across different functions so that they:

  • have a strong understanding of key technical functions that lead to Company success
  • reinforce our Company culture by establishing relationships and understanding the commitment of all of our employees.

On boarding will be one of the most critical times of the program. The new trainees will spend the first week in the same location, learning about the purpose of the Company, the vision, and meeting the full senior management. In addition to this orientation period, the class will participate in team building and listen to presentations from existing technical site managers. 

In addition, the Production Manager and other selected presenters will provide technical overviews ofbreeding and hatchery. Trainees will read all standard SOPs during the first week, and take a pre-test on poultry knowledge.

After the first week, the trainees will be assigned to 3 months in a single position. While in these positions,the trainees will start off in entry level positions to learn the business from the ground up. On the breeding farm and hatchery, they will be attendants and vaccinators then finally they will do a rotation reporting directly to the Production Manager as data analysts/quality control analysts.

This intensive period is designed to give the trainee exposure to the entire Company from a technical andfunctional perspective. This will also give department managers the opportunity to work with trainees and to allow for the selection process.

One day per month during this period, trainees will be trained on finance, HR, admin, and procurement processes and procedures.

At the end of the month, the trainees will receive testing on all 5 rotations and administrative information. A minimal score must be achieved to pass the training.

Title: Sales Admin Intern (1 position)

Work location: Kampala, Naguru

Summary of Position

The sales admin is responsible for supporting  Uzima sales functions in organizing order collection and order submission into DEAR and is also a point of contact for sales team inquiries and giving updates to the sales team daily concerning dispatch lists

 

The sales admin  position demands a high level of professionalism, commitment and motivation, as well as great communication and interpersonal skills 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating sales quotes of orders from the sales team using Uzima’s order collection process daily; liaise with the Finance team to confirm payment for orders on chicks and feed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Transferring orders   from form responses to orders in the order trucker
  • Organizing dispatch list in line with the waiting period of 2-3 weeks
  • Timely submission of orders to operations to ensure timely organization of dispatch
  • Contact clients to obtain missing information concerning their orders
  • Improving Sales order process Via sales team Relations with Guidance from the Supervisor.
  • Any other activity assigned by the supervisor.

Required skills

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Admin, Office administration, Record management or any related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with the sales team in a friendly and professional manner
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) or Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Slide, Google Sheets)
  • Highly detail-oriented and process-oriented, with a highly developed sense of reliability and responsibility
  • Time Management / Multi-tasking Skills: Handling multiple Customers and several Job Duties while Providing a timely service to the Demanding company needs

The Senior sales admin is responsible for supporting  Uzima sales functions in overseeing the  organization of  order collection and order submission into DEAR and is also responsible for assessing the sales pipeline and giving updates to the sales team daily,  coaching sales admins to ensure a smooth order process and generating and updating sales reports

 

The senior sales admin  position demands a high level of professionalism, commitment and motivation, as well as great communication and interpersonal skills

 

 Key responsibilities

  • Ensure timely agent quotes creation and payment confirmation with finance.
  • Analyze and cleanse the sales pipeline weekly, sharing updates with the sales team.
  • Verify data accuracy in the order tool.
  • Oversee dispatch lists to enforce 2-3 week waiting period policy.
  • Coach sales admins on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop monthly sales reports on target achievement.
  • Update sales dashboard data.
  • Manage sales fuel and stipend calculations.
  • Organize sales team campaigns and programs (e.g., quarterly prizes, events).
  • Report on district sales representatives’ onboarding/offboarding and follow up on agent compensations

 

Key performance indicators

  • Developing monthly sales report on performance against targets
  • ASM-DSR onboarding and offboarding report
  • Weekly analysis of sales pipeline

 

Requirement and skills

  • Proven work experience as a sales administrator or sales support agent
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and MS office (MS excel in particular
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Team player with high level of dedication
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Certificate in marketing, sales or relevant field is a plus
